Top Agricultural Research Institutes in India and their research areas

Indian agriculture and rural life have undergone tremendous transformation since independence.  India transformed from the status of grain importing country to grains exporting country. Agricultural research and development since independence and the introduction of revolutionary steps in the Agriculture and its allied sectors like introduction of Green revolution and white revolution made the India self sustainable.

Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) is continuously working on improving the crop improvement and to solve the challenges related to agriculture. Government of India has established numbers of research institutes to provide innovative technologies not only for sustainable agriculture but also climate smart technologies for mitigation of effects of climate change on agriculture.
