5 Women IAS Topper’s inspiring Profiles.

Civil Services is one of the toughest examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) to select officers into IAS,IPS,IFS,IRS etc services. Number of women candidates appearing for the exam is increasing gradually and selections are also increasing year to year. Significant numbers of women is in list of toppers of the exam and also secured the top Ranks below Rank 10.

Five number of women candidates were topped the exam from 2010 to 2020. The brief inspirational profile of the IAS women Toppers is as follows.

DIVYADARSHINI, IAS – IAS TOPPER 2010 (AIR-1)

Divyadarshini is the Taminadu cadre IAS officer was the topper (All India 1^st Rank) of UPSC Civil Services Exam 2010. She is from Chennai of Tamilnadu .

She completed her BA, BL (Hons) from Dr Ambedkar Law University in Chennai.

Though she could not clear the prelims in the 1st attempt but topped the exam in 2nd attempt. She had joined the State Bank of India as an assistant after completing her LLB.

Public administration and Law were her two optional subjects

SHENA AGGARWAL , IAS– IAS TOPPER 2011 (AIR-1)

Shena Aggarwal is the Haryana cadre IAS officer was the topper (All India 1^st Rank) of UPSC Civil Services Exam 2011. She is from Yamunanagar of Haryana .

She completed her medicine graduation from AIIMS, Delhi.

She secured a rank of 305 in her second attempt in 2010 and selected for the Indian Revenue Service (IT) and topped the exam in her 3^rd attempt.

Medical Science and Psychology were her two optional subjects.

IRA SINGHAL, IAS- IAS TOPPER 2014 (AIR-1)

Ira Singhal is an inspirational woman and first candidate from PH category (physically handicapped) who topped exam in her 4^th attempt. She is AGMUT (Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram- Union Territories) cadre IAS officer. She is from Meerut of Uttar Pradesh.

She studied Computer Engineering from Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology (now Netaji Subhas University of Technology NSUT) and received Dual MBA in Marketing & Finance from Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi. After MBA, before appearing for Civil Services Examination in 2010, she worked as a Strategy Manager in Cadbury India and as marketing intern at the Coca-Cola Company.

She was selected for IRS in her previous attempt but was prevented from joining due to her disability. She suffers from scoliosis (curvature of the spine) and had to fight for her case with the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT). In 2014, she had won her case and also the topped the exam.

Geography was her optional subject.

TINA DABI, IAS- IAS TOPPER 2015 (AIR-1)

Tina Dabi is the Rajasthan Cadre IAS officer and the first woman in SC category who topped the UPSC Civil Services Exam with AIR 1 in her first attempt.  She is from Bhopal of Madhya Pradesh.

She is a B.A. Political Science graduate from the Lady Shri Ram College of Delhi University.

Political Science was her optional subject.

NANDINI K R- IAS TOPPER 2016 (AIR-1)

Nandini K R is the Karnataka Cadre IAS officer and the topper (All India 1^st Rank) of UPSC Civil Services Exam 2016 in her 4^th attempt. She is from Kolar district of Karnataka.

She is a civil engineering graduate from MS Ramaiah Institute of Technology in Bangalore. She secured 849 rank in the 2014 civil services exam and was allotted IRS (Customs and Central Excise).

Kannada Literature was her optional subject.
