IITTM- A gateway to Travel & Tourism Education and Career

The greatest visible characteristics of development of any country is citizens discretionary spending on recreation ,travel and tourism. India being the fastest-growing major economy in the world, it has lot scope for domestic as well as International travel and tourism. The World Economic Forum’s Travel and Tourism Development Index 2021, ranks India 54th out of 117 countries overall in it’s Travel and Tourism Competitiveness Report. The Travel and Tourism sector contributes 9.2% of India’s GDP in 2018 and supported 42.673 million jobs, 8.1% of its total employment.

IITTM

Indian Institute of Tourism and Travel Management (IITTM) is an autonomous body under Ministry of Tourism, Government of India and is one of the premier institutes in the country offering education, training, research and consultancy in sustainable management of tourism, travel and other allied sectors.

IITTM is an institute based in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh with campuses located in

  1. Bhubaneswar
  2. Noida

COURSES OFFERED IN IITTM

  1. PhD in Tourism
  2. Master of Business Administration in Tourism & Travel Management –750 Seats
  3. Bachelor of Business Administration in Tourism & Travel- 375 Seats

BBA (TOURISM AND TRAVEL)

Eligibility for admission:

  1. Educational Qualification- The candidates who have passed 10 + 2 examinations in any subject from a recognized University /Board with a minimum of 50% marks for UR / OBC (45% for SC / ST / PWD) are eligible to apply

Selection Process:

A candidate to be considered for admission in BBA (TTM)  would have to participate in all the three components of the screening process, as mentioned below. The admission in BBA (TT) would be strictly on the basis of overall performance of written test + GD + PI, as explained follows:
i. Written Test: IGNTU IITTM Admission Test (IIAT) 2023- 70%
                              ii. Group Discussion- 15%
                             iii. Personal Interview- 15%

Written Test Pattern:

The candidate has to write their answers on OMR Sheet. It will be an objective type test with four options
of nearest answers carrying 100 questions /100 marks. One mark for each right answer and no negative marking for
wrong answer.

  1. General Awareness (50 Marks),
  2. Verbal ability (25 Marks)
  3. Quantitative ability (25 marks)

MBA (TOURISM AND TRAVEL)

Eligibility for Admission 

1) Candidates  shall be required to possess a Bachelor degree having secured a minimum of 50% aggregate in case of General and OBC categories and 45% in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST categories are eligible to apply.

2) Must appear in any of the following Management Entrance Test and submit a valid score card

  1. MAT (Management Aptitude Test) conducted by AIMA (All India Management
    Association)
  2. CAT (Common Admission Test) conducted by IIMs (Indian Institutes of Management)
  3. CMAT (Common Management Admission Test) conducted by AICTE (All India Council
    for Technical Education)
  4. XAT (Xavier Aptitude Test) conducted by XLRI (formerly known as Xavier Labour
    Relations Institute)
  5. GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test) conducted by GMAC (Graduate
    Management Admission Council)
  6. ATMA (AIMS Test for Management Admissions) conducted by AIMS (Association of
    Indian Management Schools)

                                                                   OR

  1. Appear in written test “IGNTU IITTM Admission Test (IIAT)” to be conducted by
    IGNTU & IITTM.

3) Group Discussion And Personal Interview
