National Testing Agency (NTA)-India’s Premier Entrance Exams Conducting body

We can call “Spring Season” (March, April and May) is an “Exams season” since it is the end of academic exams for school and collegiate education and beginning of schedule of the entrance exams for higher education. Lakhs of student aspirants from all over from India are appearing for many entrance examinations like JEE, NEET, CUET etc and fellowship examinations to get a seat in their favorite colleges and courses.

Preparation of question papers, conducting examinations and announcing results in the stipulated time is a hard and time bound task. Without a meticulous planning, this process can’t be completed. Have you ever a thought of “who is doing all these activities”? Who is working behind?  It is the organization established by the Government of India called “NATIONAL TESTING AGENCY (NTA)”

  • National Testing Agency (NTA) has been established as a premier, specialist, autonomous and self-sustained testing organization to conduct entrance examinations for admission/fellowship in higher educational institutions.
  • To assess competence of candidates for admissions and recruitment has always been a challenge in terms of matching with research based international standards, efficiency, transparency and error free delivery. The National Testing Agency is entrusted to address all such issues using best in every field, from test preparation, to test delivery and to test marking.

NTA EXAMS

When NTA was established in the year 2017, it was assigned to conduct few Entrance Examinations like JEE (Main), UGC-NET Assessments for fellowship, CMAT & GPAT and NEET – UG but later on many organizations have been depending upon the NTA to conduct the entrance examinations.

The list of exams conducting by the NTA is as follows.

  1. JEE Main: Joint Entrance Examination – Main, formerly All India Engineering Entrance Examination, is an Indian standardized computer-based test for admission to various technical undergraduate programs in engineering, architecture, and planning across colleges in India
  2. NEET(UG) : The National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (Undergraduate) is an all India pre-medical entrance test for students who wish to pursue undergraduate medical (MBBS), dental (BDS) and AYUSH (BAMS, BUMS, BHMS, etc.) courses in government and private institutions in India
  3. CMAT: Common Management Admission Test is a national level postgraduate entrance exam conducted for admission to various management programs in over 1000 B-Schools.
  4. ICAR AIEEA (PG): All India Entrance Examination for 30% seats in Master degree programmes in Agricultural Universities.
  5. UGC NET: The University Grants Commission–National Eligibility Test is an Indian standardized test for determining the eligibility for the position of assistant professor in Indian universities and colleges, as well as for the awarding of Junior Research Fellowship, or both.
  6. CMAT: Common Management Admission Test is a National Level Entrance Examination for admission to Management Programmes approved by AICTE in the country.
  7. CUET(UG) : Common University Entrance Test for admission into Undergraduate Programmes in Central Universities under the Ministry of Education, and other participating Universities / Institutions / Organizations / Autonomous Colleges
  8. CUET (PG): Common University Entrance Test for admission into Post Graduate Programmes in Central Universities under the Ministry of Education, and other participating Universities / Institutions / Organizations / Autonomous Colleges
  9. GPAT: Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test is a National Level Entrance Examination for entry into M. Pharma Programme. The GPAT Score is accepted by all AICTE/Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) approved / affiliated University Departments / Constituent / Affiliated Colleges / Institutions.
  10. CSIR NET: Joint CSIR-UGC National Eligibility Test Examination would be conducted for determining the eligibility of Indian Nationals for the award of Junior Research Fellowships (JRF) and for determining eligibility for Lectureship (LS)/Assistant Professorship in certain subject areas falling under the faculty of Science & Technology.
  11. IIFT: Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) – Entrance Exam for admission to the IIFT-MBA (International Business) Programme.
  12. NCHMCT JEE: NTA will conduct the National Council for Hotel Management Joint Entrance Examination in CBT mode for admission to the B.Sc. Course in Hospitality and Hotel Administration (B.Sc.HHA) across the Country.

FACILITIES CREATED BY NTA

  • Content based lectures’ for subjects viz. Mathematics, Physics ,Chemistry and Biology for JEE(Main) and NEET-UG by IIT Professors / Subject experts
  • National Test Abhyas-Mobile App Exclusively for students- The Daily Test combines relevant academic content with an artificial intelligence driven personalized adaptive learning platform to help you score to your potential
  • Mock Tests to familiarize the students about processes of Computer Based Test (CBT), candidate can understand various processes of Computer Based Test (CBT) with the available mock test.
  • Tests Practice Centres (TPCs) : NTA established and created a network of Tests Practice Centres for candidates, especiallyin remote and rural areas to enable them to practice and be comfortable in taking a Computer Based Test (CBT). This facility will be completely free of cost. Candidates can register online (on NTA website) where they will be provided a convenient TPC near to their location to practice on a given computer node
  • Computer Based Tests: Candidates have to follows detailed instructions for the examinations after logging in the computer. At the designated time of start of examination, the candidates will be able to proceed and see the questions on the computer screen using the computer mouse. Candidates will have the option to change / modify/ edit / answers already entered any time during the examination.
